1859 March 17th  Marriage of Elisha Austin ROGERS to Nancy Ann MARSHALL,  in Carroll County, Tennessee
Notes:  She was the daughter of John Neil MARSHALL and Nancy Unknown of Carroll County.  Nancy was born September 05, 1840 in Alabama, and died April 14, 1924 in Blackburn, Jefferson  County, Oklahoma.   Elisha & Nancy are found in 1860 census he was listed as an overseer in Henry Co., TN.    They were in Graves County, Kentucky by 1870, and Wise County, Texas by 1880. The 1880 Census records shows the family could not read or write except for their child Thomas Albert Rogers my great grandfather.  Tom was the only child in school in 1880.    Elisha and Nancy moved to Aurora in Wise County Texas  around 1879 from Kentucky where they had ten of their children.  Three children are listed as being born after their arrival in Texas.   They are both buried together at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery #2 on Keeter Rd, off of F.M. 730 going west in Wise County, Tx.
