The County of Cape Girardeau was created as original Distrit in 1812.  The county seat is located in Jackson County.    Original Courthouse burned in 1870.

Notes:   Margaret was the widow of Daniel C. TOTTY of Hickman and Humphrey Counties in Tennessee.    Daniel was the son of Harrison and Martha Patsy (Johnson) TOTTY.   See Ulysses in the 1900 Census for New Madrid Co., Missouri.

MOSES A. TOTTY
MARBLE HILL -- Moses A.(Audrey) TOTTY, 72, of Marble Hill, died Tuesday, June 16, 1993, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
   He was born Dec. 25, 1920, at Rockview, son of Edward B. and Mary Elizabeth HOLMES TOTTY.  He and __PRIVATE___ were married Oct. 18, 1953, at Morley.
   TOTTY retired after 20 years with Purex Corp. in St. Louis.  He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.  The TOTTYS moved to Marble Hill four years ago from Cenreville, Ill.
   Survivors include his wife; three daughters; _PRIVATE__; _PRIVATE__; and _PRIVATE_.  a brother, Edwrd TOTTY, of State Park, Ill.  a sister Bernice WISE of Scott City, and five grandchildren.
   He was preceded in death by a daughter and two sisters.
   Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Chapel in Jackson.  Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery at Commerce.
   Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today.
