The County of Crockett was created in 1846 from Lauderdale, Dyer, Madison, Gibson and Haywood Counties, Tennessee. The county seat is located in Alamo, TN. Lauderdale was created from Dyer and Tipton Co.'s in 1835. Dyer, Madison, GIbson and Haywood Counties was created in 1796 when the State of Tennessee was created.
