The County of Tulare was established in 1852
from Mariposa County which was an original county established in 1850 when
California was admitted to the Union. This was accomplished
due to the mass migration of inhabitants into California when Gold was
discovered at Sutter's Mill, causing the 1849 Gold Rush.

Pearl YEARWOOD TOTTY
Notes: Nora Pearl Yearwood was married
to Frank TOTTY GAGE in Decatur, Wise County, Texas on December 11, 1897.
Frank was the son of Benjamin A. and Sarah Louise TOTTY GAGE and grandson
of Capt. F. M. & Rhoda May SPRADLING TOTTY. Frank Totty
GAGE died July 18, 1964 in Fresno, Fresno County, California according
to TOTTY researcher Damon Scott Eddy. Need Obit for both Frank and
Nora Gage.

APRIL 18, 1962 MEMORIAL OBITUARY
TOTTY - In Napa, Saturday, April 14, 1962.
Green W. TOTTY, beloved husband of Hattie TOTTY of Napa; loving
father of Floyd TOTTY and Mrs. Ola McCULLUGH, both of Napa, Elvin TOTTY
of Texas, Vernon TOTTY and D. C. TOTTY, both of the U.S. Army, Mrs.
Mart BOONE of Wasco, Calif., Johney TOTTY of the U. S. Air Force
and Mrs. Odell SPRINKLE of Fontana; brother of Mrs. Becky BARKER
of Hallis, Okla., and Bill TOTTY of
Tulare. Forty-two grandchildren
and 13 great grandchildren also survive. A native of
Arkansas, aged 78 years. Friends are invited to attend funeral services
Tuesday, April 17, at 10 o'clock a.m. at the Claffey and Rota Funeral Home,
1975 Main St., with the Rev. Willard T. Tate of Faith Tabernacle officiating.
Interment-Tulocay Cemetery.

1964 March 31 Death of William
Marion TOTTY, son of John Whitfield TOTTY and Sarah Ellen YANDELL.
Notes: He was born July 30, 1871 in Gilmer,
Upshur
County, Texas, and died in Stratmore, Tulara County, California.
He was married on 4 occassions to 1) Martha E. "Mattie" HINKLE on
December 19, 1891 in Montague County, Texas, she was the daughter
of Charles HINKLE and Amelia TRAYLER. He married (2)
Hattie FORTUNE on February 05, 1904 in Montague Co., ? Texas, and later
divorced. He married (3) Marian GASSOWAY March 13, 1905
in Sebastian
County, Arkansas, and later divorced. He married
for the last time 4) Sarah Elizabeth Ethel RIGSBAY on June 17, 1906 in
Winfield, Scott
County, Arkansas. She was born March 27, 1891 in Aktan, Hood
County, Texas, and died August 31, 1972 in Tulare, Tulare County, California.

Elizabeth Ethel RIGSBAY TOTTY, in Stratmore, Tulare County.
Notes: Ethel was born on March 27, 1891
in Aktan, Hood County, Texas. At this time the idenity of
her parents are still being researched. She was the widow of
William Marion TOTTY who is also buried in Tulare Co.
